Hi everyone,I often get asked what I do to make sure my bottoms—or costumes in general—don’t slip during a performance. So I’d love to share some personal insights and tips with you.

Costume slips are no big deal

First things first: please don’t feel ashamed if this happens to you. We’re all human, and we all have bodies. The same goes for every part of the body. Even in competitions or shows, wardrobe slips can happen—and that’s totally okay. Personally, I would never deduct points for something like that. It’s just part of the experience. In the video below, I talk more deeply about costume slips and how to prepare to avoid.

My personal rule #1

My golden rule is this: I don’t want to be thinking about my costume while I’m on stage. My focus should be fully on my performance, my movement, and my audience—not on whether something might slip.

That’s why I choose costumes that fit me and my body. They don’t have to be “perfect” or look a certain way. What matters is that I feel secure and confident in them.

The Art of Creating a Powerful Performance

Stepping onto the stage is bold, beautiful, and sometimes overwhelming. In this masterclass, I share candid insights and tools from years of international performance, helping you build a powerful piece with clarity and confidence. Takeaway: Costumes are part of our art, but they should never distract us from performing. Don’t be afraid of little “accidents”—they happen to everyone. What really counts is feeling free, having fun, and standing on stage with pride.
